1. Introduction

VeilNet Pty Ltd (“VeilNet”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our websites, applications, and services (collectively, the “Services”).

VeilNet is built on privacy-first, decentralized, and post-quantum-secure technologies. Our goal is to collect the absolute minimum amount of information necessary to operate the service effectively while ensuring your privacy and security.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you register for VeilNet, we collect your email address to manage your account and authenticate your access to the service.

  • Billing Information: When subscribing to a paid plan, you provide payment details (e.g., card number, billing address). This information is processed and stored exclusively by our payment processor, Stripe. VeilNet does not store your payment details.

  • Support Communications: If you contact us, we collect the information you voluntarily provide, including your email address and the contents of your message.

2.2 Information We Do Not Collect

  • No Traffic Logs: VeilNet does not monitor, inspect, or store your network traffic.

  • No Connection Logs: We do not log IP addresses, connection times, session durations, or usage history.

  • No Identity Tracking: VeilNet does not track user behavior, browsing history, or metadata beyond what is strictly necessary for authentication and access control.

2.3 Information We Automatically Collect

  • Minimal Operational Metadata: To maintain the integrity of VeilNet services, we record essential operational metadata, such as when a VeilNet portal or rift connects or disconnects from a veil or domain. This is necessary for ensuring the correct function of the system but is not used for tracking users.

  • Optional Diagnostic Data: You may opt-in to share anonymized diagnostic data to help improve VeilNet. This is entirely voluntary.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain the Services.

  • Authenticate your access to VeilNet.

  • Process payments via Stripe.

  • Respond to support requests.

  • Improve the performance, reliability, and security of the Services.

  • Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent misuse.

4. How We Share Information

4.1 No Third-Party Data Access

VeilNet does not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third parties. Your data is not accessible to advertisers, analytics companies, or external partners.

4.2 Payment Processing

The only third party involved is Stripe, which securely handles billing and payment information on our behalf. VeilNet does not have access to full payment credentials (e.g., credit card numbers).

Stripe’s handling of payment information is governed by their own privacy policies and compliance with PCI-DSS standards.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We will only disclose information if required by applicable law or valid legal process under Australian jurisdiction. Due to the privacy-preserving nature of VeilNet, even this is severely limited as we retain minimal information.

5. Data Retention

  • Account Information: Retained until your account is deleted.

  • Billing Records: Retained by Stripe for as long as required for tax, accounting, and compliance.

  • Operational Metadata: Maintained as necessary for the functioning of active services and purged when no longer required.

6. Data Security

  • End-to-End Encryption: All communications over VeilNet are encrypted using post-quantum secure protocols (ML KEM) alongside AES256 encryption.

  • Decentralized Design: VeilNet minimizes centralized data handling, reducing risks associated with data breaches.

  • Minimal Data Footprint: Our systems are architected to avoid collecting or storing personal data.

7. International Data Transfers

VeilNet complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Stripe may process billing information in accordance with its own global privacy practices.
